Got to talk to my coaches today about why I did the #BodyIssue with @espnmag. I enjoyed hearing the different views from how wonderful it is for wrestling to breakout of the norm and do something to get us known to a broader audience. But one coach said he understands but that was all and that one statement said more than anything. He didn’t get it. I know this is different but it is amazing. It is amazing that me, just an athletic girl from #Denver, is being recognized as an athlete, as a female athlete in #ESPN! I could have never dreamed my hard work- my muscles, strength and the real female body I have would be on display to the world. Even as this became a reality I thought when I made it to this point I would look like a Greek goddess or like pictures you see of super models with no body fat yet full female curves. I look strong and beautiful but I was never the prettiest girl, my sister had that title, I was never the smartest, my other sister got that, I was never the funniest, my last sister got that but normal-not that special me found a way to have the world see a female athlete reaching for a goal of gold and watch, listen and cheer as I reach for that dream. I did this for wrestling, I did this for me. To be vulnerable and confident in my own skin and to show what is tangible for women if they Dream bigger sooner. #graytogold #adelinegray #womeninsport #espnbodyissue2016 #women
